Building The Future, Restoring The Past — And Standing Behind The People Who Live Here

DA Construction Inc. builds in Central Florida because we live in Central Florida. These are three organizations we believe in — one serving our kids, one carrying families through the hardest year of their lives, and one putting neighbors under a roof of their own. Every one of them needs hands, materials and dollars. Below is exactly how to give them yours.

Why we do it

A contractor's obligation doesn't end at the property line

Construction is a trust business. The same crews, suppliers and neighbors who make our projects possible are the ones these organizations serve. Supporting them isn't marketing — it's maintenance on the community we build in.

Skills, not just checks

Framing, finish work, materials and equipment are worth more on a build site than a donation form. We give what we're good at.

Local dollars, local impact

Every organization on this page serves Lake, Sumter and the surrounding Central Florida counties we work in daily.

Kiwanis Club of Umatilla

Neighbors serving Lake County kids — one pancake breakfast, scholarship and park project at a time.

Kiwanis International exists to improve the world one child and one community at a time. The Umatilla club (K02077, chartered in the Florida District) is the small-town version of that mission: local members who show up for youth programs, school partnerships and community events right here in north Lake County. It is the most direct way to put your hands — and your Saturday morning — into the town you actually live in.

What sets them apart

  • Truly local

Umatilla is a small club with a big footprint. Every dollar and hour stays in Lake County instead of disappearing into a national budget.

  • Kids first

Kiwanis focus areas are youth leadership, education and health — the long game that keeps our towns strong a generation from now.

  • You can just show up

No committee application, no minimum gift. Call an officer, come to a meeting, bring a friend.

Ways to get involved

  • Attend a club meeting as a guest and see the projects first-hand
  • Sponsor or work a community fundraiser or youth event
  • Join as a member and bring your trade skills to club projects
  • Support Key Club and youth leadership programs at local schools

Make-A-Wish® Central & Northern Florida

A wish is not a nice-to-have. Doctors call it part of the treatment.

Make-A-Wish grants life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Our chapter — Central & Northern Florida — serves the families in our own service area, from Lake County to the coast. The research is what sets this one apart: 99% of doctors surveyed say a wish experience helps relieve traumatic stress, and 87% of wish alumni say their wish was a turning point in their treatment.

What sets them apart

  • Medicine you can measure

99% of doctors say wishes help relieve a family from traumatic stress; 87% of alumni call their wish a turning point.

  • The need outpaces the giving

For every wish granted, three more children are waiting on funding. A child is diagnosed with a critical illness every 20 minutes.

  • Scale with a local face

More than 650,000 wishes granted worldwide, delivered here by the Central & Northern Florida chapter and its volunteers.

Ways to get involved

  • Make a one-time gift toward the next wish waiting on funding
  • Give monthly so wishes can be scheduled all year long
  • Fundraise your way — jobsite challenge, tournament, birthday
  • Volunteer as a wish granter or at chapter events

Homes. Communities. Hope.

Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter

The cause closest to what we do every day: getting families into safe, well-built, affordable homes.

Since 1989, Habitat Lake-Sumter has partnered with families in Lake and Sumter Counties who are shut out of traditional homeownership — building new homes, repairing existing ones and keeping longtime homeowners safely in place. As builders, this is the work we understand in our bones: a straight wall, a dry roof and a family with keys in hand.

What sets them apart

  • Homeownership, not a handout

Families invest sweat equity and complete financial education to earn entry-level homeownership.

  • Preservation & Repair

Critical repairs improve safety and accessibility so existing homeowners can stay in the homes they already own.

  • Youth Construction Academy

High school students in Eustis, Leesburg and beyond build real houses and learn a real trade — the next generation of our industry.

  • ReStores in Leesburg & Eustis

Furniture, appliances and building materials at a fraction of retail, with proceeds going straight back into local housing. Free donation pickup available.

Ways to get involved

  • Volunteer on a build site — no experience needed, supervisors train on site
  • Organize a team build with your company, church or crew
  • Donate furniture, appliances or materials to the ReStore (free pickup)
  • Shop the Leesburg or Eustis ReStore and fund local housing
  • Give directly or sponsor a home repair
